New shower & bathroom waterproofing
Liquid-applied polyurethane or acrylic membrane over primed substrate, with reinforcing fabric to all internal corners and penetrations. Flood-tested before tiling. Form 16 / compliance certificate issued.
Specialist waterproofing across residential, commercial and remedial work. Pricing depends on the substrate, area, membrane type and complexity of detailing — call us with the specifics and we'll quote properly.
Residential wet areas
Wet-area waterproofing is governed by AS 3740. It defines which surfaces have to be waterproofed and to what height — the entire shower floor and 1800mm up on walls within the shower, perimeter 150mm up on bathroom walls, and the whole laundry floor where below ground level.

Re-waterproofing existing wet areas during a renovation. Includes removing old membrane where compromised, addressing any substrate issues (rot, movement), and applying new membrane to current Standards.
Often overlooked. AS 3740 requires floor waterproofing on any wet area below ground, and we'd recommend it on all laundries given the consequences of a hose failure.
External & structural
External waterproofing has to cope with weather, UV, thermal movement and structural movement — in addition to water. These jobs use heavier-duty membranes (polyurethane, sheet, or torch-on bitumen depending on the application) and benefit from a properly engineered drainage layer.
Trafficable membrane systems for tiled or pedestal-paved balconies. Properly detailed at hob upturns, drainage outlets, and door thresholds — the four most common failure points. Compliant with AS 4654.
One of the highest-risk applications — constant soil contact, root pressure, and standing water. Heavy-duty membrane with root-resistant additive, protection board, and a proper drainage layer between membrane and growing medium.
External or internal application depending on accessibility. Hydrostatic-pressure-rated membranes (cementitious crystalline or torch-on bitumen sheet) with drainage management on the wet side. For habitable basements, we work to AS 3700/3600.
Negative-side waterproofing on the soil-facing surface of retaining walls. Heavy-duty bitumen membrane with protection board to prevent backfill damage. Often paired with an ag-drain at footing level.
Specialist & remedial
Existing leak? We diagnose first — moisture meters, dye testing, flood testing — then quote the actual repair. Often the leak isn't where the stain is. Diagnosis fee is credited against the repair if you proceed.
Membrane systems for the perimeter slab around pools and for the coping detailing. Chlorinated-water resistance matters here — standard balcony membranes don't qualify.
Decorative water features, fish-safe membrane systems (no plasticisers that leach), and proper detailing at edges and overflow points.
Flat and low-slope roofs — torch-on bitumen, polyurethane liquid, or single-ply membrane. Penetration detailing for vents, AC units, skylights and parapets.
Apartment balconies, podium slabs, plant-room floors, large basements. We work to architect / engineer specifications and provide as-built documentation for the building's compliance file.
Pre-purchase or post-handover waterproofing inspection. Independent written report covering condition, code compliance and remediation options. Useful for property purchase, strata claims, or insurance disputes.
